Film review for Day Shift starring Snoop Dogg

Jamie Foxx stars as Dave Franco and Jamie Foxx is the star of "Day Shift", a new movie about vampire hunting. The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

Jamie Foxx shoots at an old lady who turns up to be a vamp in the opening scene of Day Shift. This leads to a hilarious fight between the two of them. This movie has a great deal of fun with rag-doll action scenes. It makes those scenes pop in a different way than many of the action blockbusters or Netflix movies. It's hard to not think about the old adage that "action speaks more than words". But, "Day Shift" has a unique ability to employ both dialogue and action to enhance the story and character development. For example, after Jamie Foxx's character finally kills the vampire, he has a hilariously dry exchange with his partner about how he "thought she was going to turn into a bat or something." It's moments like this that help to elevate "Day Shift" above other similar movies.

Day Shift is another non-serious, fun film that I felt I could truly enjoy the entire time. I didn't have to think to much, it had great action that was original and I felt like I was enjoying watching it. It was funny and made me laugh a lot. It also drew inspiration from the brilliant vampire films Blade and Lost Boys, two of my all-time favorite films. The acting was good all around, the directing was great and the cinematography was quite good too. Day Shift is an enjoyable movie that's not too serious and easy to watch. It's very entertaining.

Day Shift was mixed. There are (get more info) some great action scenes and fun characters (the brothers and Seth), but the villain is terrible and there are a lot more mediocre characters. However, that makes Day Shift even more enjoyable. There appeared to be scenes missing from the film. Bud's neighbor acts as if they are friends even though she had only 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. The best part of the movie was definitely when Bud went to work at the gas station and started making prank phone calls. It was funny, and it was a great movie. Then, however, the movie went on and the movie was far less enjoyable. Day Shift has a mixed record. Some parts are great, and some parts are terrible. You could find a better movie if you are looking for some laughs.

Snoop Dogg makes the whole movie worth watching. Snoop Dogg is loved by everyone. He's cool.
